Brienna McLaughlin Pruce is an international artist who uses animal symbols to
convey empathy. She received her MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and was awarded the Outstanding Academic
Achievement Award. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Sweet Briar College with a BFA in Studio Art
and Creative Writing, and an Art History minor. She met her husband when they were both studying abroad at the University
of Oxford.
In 2007, Pruce was awarded a Professional Development Grant to attend an artist residency at Sustainable
Arts Society. She was also awarded the Forsyth Fellowship in 2004 to attend an artist residency at the Virginia Center
for the Creative Arts. She taught college art courses in Virginia and currently works as a freelance artist in Cambridge,
UK.
